Our services are provided by Dr John Griffiths holds a PhD in organisational behaviour and a Graduate Certificate of Education (Career Counselling and Development).
Our services include:
Career counselling. We help you choose a career that aligns with your skills and aspirations. Unsure about what career is best for you? Unsure about what career is best for you? Our career counselling sessions will help you explore your options, decide on a dream job and tell you how to get qualified.
John combines narrative counselling techniques with vocational guidance. In these sessions we'll explore your past experiences and identify your interests and talents to fully understand your aspirations and needs. We offer comprehensive assessments to identify strengths and interests, alongside resources for exploring various careers tailored to your unique skills and aspirations.
We help you identify the specific occupational skills you will need to self-manage your learning and career development. These include "power skills'' such as teamwork, communication, curiosity, emotional intelligence, leadership and initiative - the human capabilities that employers will prize as artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more widespread.
University and Vocational Education and Training (VET) course selection. We'll provide you with valuable course information including entry requirements, course cost, prior student satisfaction and post study employment rates.
Choosing a university or training course is a big decision. It's a significant investment of time and money. With the first year of a degree costing upto $16,000 it's more important than ever than make sure you make the right choice.
Whether you are about to finish school or are in the workforce and looking to upskill, we're here to help. Educatus is independent of education providers, so our advice is free from marketing spin and prioritises your interests.
We help find the best education provider and course that is suited to your needs, abilities and aspirations. We then provide information on entry ranks, prerequisites, course costs, and student satisfaction so you can make an informed decision. We offer advice on bridging programs, undergraduate diplomas, VET (vocational education and training) programs, undergraduate degrees and post graduate qualifications.
Before you commit to a course make sure you know what you're committing to. Ask yourself the following questions. How much will it cost? What are your job prospects on completion? How have past students rated the course? What is the providers' reputation? that will help you answer these questions.
After your consultation, we'll send you a report that includes a summary of four courses you should consider - including entry requirements, duration, indicative cost, and satisfaction ratings based on recent graduate experiences QILT data, where this is available. The downloads section of the website has a sample report.
QTAC Application. Are you struggling with completing your university application or looking for a second opinion? With one in eight applicants not receiving a QTAC offer due to incorrect preferencing, not meeting the selection rank requirements or not completing six preferences, getting the application right is important. We can help you complete your QTAC application to increase your chances of getting into your dream course.
School Subject Choices. While every student deserves access to the best possible advice, not all students have access to the information that they need.
Poor subject selection at school, unrealistic ATAR expectations and not being aware of multiple pathway options into post-secondary education and work can limit your options down the track.
John is the architect of the ATAR system in Queensland and has the expertise to advise students on:
- School subject selections
- VET options (eg diplomas, certificates or apprenticeships at school)
- Alternative pathways to university
- Optimising your ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank)
This session will be tailored to your needs.
